Fisher says family comes first

Ross Fisher, the European who came closest to winning the US Open last month, still does not know if he will be able to play in The Open at Turnberry this week.

And even if he does, he's not sure he'll be able to see out all four days of the championship
Fisher, fifth at Bethpage, remains in supremely confident mood after an eighth place finish on his return to action at the Scottish Open last week.

But almost immediately after handing in his scorecard he was off to the airport and flying to London to be with his wife, Jo, who is expecting their first child tomorrow.

However, if there is no sign of anything happening, he will get himself back to Scotland by lunchtime tomorrow and will prepare for The Open while awaiting further news.
