Great Irons-----Ping G10 irons

Filed under: by: golf clubs showcase

The main difference in the Ping G10 irons compared to the G5 is that the cavity back has been made bigger and this in turn has allowed weight to be moved lower and further back for more forgiveness. The stability of the thinner face is maintained by the tuning port insert which gives the club great feel at impact for a cast head. Forgiveness is the main feature of the Ping G10 iron and right through the set they are very easy to hit and you still get good direction and distance on off-centre hits.

Combine that with Ping's excellent custom fitting service and you won't be disappointed with these irons. Higher handicappers may prefer to leave out some of the longer irons and replace them with hybrids, even though the 3 and 4 irons are almost as easy to hit. The standard steel shaft in both is the new PING-designed Ascending Weight Technology (AWT) series.

In the new series, the long iron shafts are lighter than the short irons shafts to produce a set that provides the golfer consistent weight progression from driver (the lightest shaft in the bag) through the wedges (the heaviest shaft in the bag). The new shafts help increase club head speed in the long irons and add control and consistency to the short irons.
